Dear Dr. Gott - I am at my wits end. I have a raised rash that almost looks like ringworm, but the doctors assure me it's not. It was diagnosed as Granuloma Annulare, and I was told the cause is unknown. One doctor prescribed variouss creams that didn't seem to do anything and the dermotologist injected cortizone into a couple of the worst patches on my face and at the base of my neck. But it's on my shoulders and upper arms. It doesn't bother me for the most part- but is ugly and gets irritated by my neckline. What can I do. I'm hoping to retire to Florida soon, so covering up just won't do, and I don't want anyone to think I have something contagious. Any home remidies you can suggest?
- Thank you. Julie E., Trenton, NJ

I am not a doctor, but have you asked your doctor about a short, tapering course of oral steroids? I certainly understand about not covering up!
