Many have brought new diets in the fight against extra pounds. And whilst some bragged about wonder diets that actually did more harm than good, others managed to come up with great solutions that helped a lot of people.

The 'no flour, no sugar' diet is one such tool, and unlike many diets, this eating regime has plenty of benefits. Where there are benefits, there are also weak points, so you'll find the no flour, no sugar diet adequately described: with both the good and the bad.

What Is the No Flour, No Sugar Diet?

The no flour, no sugar dietary plan is pretty much exactly what its name suggests it should be -- a diet in which you are expected to eliminate sugar and flour-containing foods from your daily meals. But as with all diets, this one too has a catch. What's the catch? By following the no flour, no sugar diet you have to keep in mind that both flour and sugar come in many forms, thus you need to avoid any food product loaded with processed sugar and flour.

Remember that even if you read the label of your favorite sweets and you notice that they do not include sugar, that doesn't mean those products do not have sugary ingredients that would also prevent you from losing weight. It's the same principle that should prevent you from eating flour-based products such as pretzels, donuts or pastry.

Eliminating Flour and Sugar-Containing Products... Why Sugar and Flour?

First of all, as far as flour-based products are concerned, these often contain hydrogenated oil, a highly cancerous substance. Second, the flour contained in today's food products is so highly processed that it becomes just as dangerous as sugar. By eliminating flour and sugar, you get to decrease your intake of empty calories. These have no nutritional value, but they do love to transform sculpted silhouettes into blubbery masses.

Bad carbohydrates, meaning foods containing significant amounts of sugar and flour, are usually full of nutrient-free calories. These products do not even have to have such large amounts of sugar, but they do. And because of that, by consuming them, you can trigger your body's natural defense mechanism of fighting sugar, which is highly glycemic. What does your body do? It increases insulin secretion and that has the following result: sugar is turned into fat, and excess fat is stored, making you look and feel less healthy.

Advantages of the No Flour, No Sugar Diet

By eliminating the harmful intake of highly-glycemic sugar, you get to reduce the process of excess fat accumulation. Don't think that if you exercise long enough, you'll gain your health back and achieve the perfect weight. To get positive results, you need a diet that works and one that is not difficult to follow; one that keeps you full and allows you to consume meat or dairy products if you feel like it.

By embracing this diet, you'll still get to enjoy delicious foods and deserts without being obliged to replace them with something less appetizing. You'll decrease your daily calorie intake simply by eliminating sugar and flour-based products. This diet will help you achieve a better health and will decrease the risks of getting all sorts of illnesses triggered by harmful food ingredients like carbohydrates.

Disadvantages of the No Flour, No Sugar Diet

The main disadvantage of the no flour, no sugar diet is that such an eating regime is one based on the exclusion of certain foods without telling the person what she should eat. If you know you have all sorts of harmful eating habits, this diet won't be of much help. Such a diet is suitable for some people, but since all diets have their flaws, you shouldn't count on it 100% believing that everything will be perfect once you avoid eating flour and sugar-based products. If these are the source of your dietary problems, than this eating regime will turn out to be successful, but if you're the kind of person who could eat a stake at 2 a.m., the no flour, no sugar diet may not be such a great plan.

If you need a great diet to start with in order to lose weight, the no flour, no sugar diet is highly recommended, but if your weight loss goals are hindered by lots of other factors, have a chat with your nutritionist and conceive a plan that will work on all levels.
